Madame Yankelova's Fine Literature Club

Madame Yankelova's Fine Literature Club

Isarel |  2017  |  90 minutes  |  Director: Guilhad Emilio Schenker

An all-women’s club dedicated to the simple pleasure of luring men into their midst… then killing them. The one who brings the most fitting victim will be awarded a trophy. The one who’s able to score 100 trophies, will be elevated to a higher status among the club’s elite, indulging a decadent lifestyle with no further obligations.

This year’s representation of Israeli Horror is a colorful, darkly humorous drama, akin to the charms of Jean Pierre Jeunet, and a deliciously morbid satire on romantic relationships and women’s role in society.

Guilhad Emilio Schenker is a Master and Bachelor graduate in film studies at Tel Aviv University film school, a “Berlinale Talents 2014” Alumnus, and a PhD candidate at Freie Universitat Berlin.
